As anyone who enjoys a backyard BBQ will know, one of the secrets to great outdoor cooking is a well-maintained grill. Things like cooking fat, sauces, and carbon deposits can quickly build up and have a negative impact on the flavor of your next grilling session.
Many will turn to a grill brush to help keep their cooking surface clean, but a traditional brush with bristles can often shed those same bristles during cleaning.
If they find their way into food, it can ruin the overall taste of your meats. After all, who would want to bite down into a juicy burger full of steel bristles, right? Read our Complete Review of Best Bristle Free Grill Brushes of 2021.
The best bristle free grill brushes, on the other hand, are designed to eliminate this problem by removing the fragile bristles from the brush design altogether. Let’s check out some of the best ones that the market has to offer to find the perfect bristle-free grill brush that matches your preferences
Best Bristle Free Grill Brush Reviews
1. Easy Function Grill Brush
Review of: Easy Function Grill Brush
Category: Grill Brushes
What We Like
- Triple cleaning action
- Rust-free, stainless steel construction
- Recommended for all grill types
- Promotes scratch-free cleaning
What We Don’t Like
- No scraper edge
- Not as long as the others on this list
This brush from Easy Function has a lot to like about, but one of the real, standout features is the fact that it has a very simple and straightforward design. On the one hand, we like that simplicity, especially in products that are, at heart, quite simple. These are, after all, grill brushes we are looking at here, not drones or pickup trucks.
That simplicity in design translates to a brush that is very simple to use. Heat up your grill (or keep it hot) before dunking the brush head into water and scrubbing. The brush has a tough and well-constructed head that will quickly tackle grease and carbon build up. It is safe to use on a wide variety of grill types, and it has a very reasonable price tag.
On the downside, that simplicity does mean a few things are less than perfect. There is no scraper edge, for example, which means that this brush may struggle to tackle really dirty grills with baked-on food and sauce stains. It’s also only 16 inches long, making it the shortest brush on our list.
All in all, though, this a pretty decent all-around grill brush and BBQ cleaning scraper that won’t break the bank.
2. Grillart Bristle-Free Grill Brush
This is a solid choice if you are looking for a brush that will provide a real deep cleaning action. First of all, you have that tough and wide scraper tool that is mounted on the top of the brush. We love seeing that tool on a grill brush as it can really help you lift and remove tough and baked-on stains and dirt, such as burnt sauces or cheese overrun.
Beneath the scraper is a triple-layer brush head of stainless steel construction. It has been manufactured from very tight coils, providing a brush that has good water retention capabilities to help get a good steam-cleaning action. The brush itself is 18 inches long with a well-designed handle including a very useful hanging hook.
If there is one negative, it is that there is a lot of close-packed cleaning material on the brush head. There is, for example, not much room between the scraper and the brush head, while the nature of the brush head construction means that the steel coils are very closely packed.
That, in turn, can make it hard to clean the brush itself. While a lot of dirt will be lifted from the grill, a lot will end up getting stuck to the brush forever instead.
3. KitchenReady Grill Brush
The big stand out feature of this grill brush has to be the brush head itself. While almost all brush heads are installed at a 90-degree angle to the handle, this brush is installed to sit parallel to the handle.
In practice, this means that instead of the grill bars slotting into the groves between the brush, the entire brush body will now be in contact with the bars with every stroke. That is really going to help you to achieve a deep clean of your grill every time.
There is also a built-in scraper unit to let you tackle baked-on grease and grime. The handle is long and ergonomically designed, making it perfect for two-handed operation during powerful scrubbing action.
Sure, this is the most expensive item on the list, but you can rest assured that you are getting a heck of a good grill brush for your money here.
4. Mountain Grillers Grill Brush
This is a very simple style of grill brush, which is not necessarily a bad thing. For one big positive right off the bat, the fact that this design omits a lot of the bells and whistles found on more premium models means that the price is kept low.
While some people may miss some of those premium additions, such as a built-in scraper, what is included on this grill brush is still of high quality. The handle, for example, is made of heat-resistant Polypropylene. It is also nice and long at 18 inches, allowing you to scrub the back of the grill without risking scorching your arm hair!
The brush head is made of quality stainless steel to provide a good cleaning surface that won’t rust. The brush coils are quite tight though, which, in turn, make the brush head rigid. While this makes for a good cleaning surface, especially when scouring away tough, baked-on debris, the brush won’t conform to grill bars quite so easily. This can make it a little harder to clean to the sides of the bars.
Those are quite minor complaints, though. While this grill brush may not be as flashy or as loaded with extras as premium models, it is still a very well-designed and well-built grill brush. Add in the very reasonable price tag, and this is an interesting option for anyone who wants to keep their grill clean for the minimum expenditure.
5. GASPRO BBQ Grill Brush Set
As we said, this is a dual item set, which means that you are getting two tools here. Not only that, but you are also getting them for essentially the price of one tool, as the price tag for the set is similar to the price tag for many individual tools.
So, what are you getting in the set? Well, one tool is a brushless scrubbing tool, made of coiled stainless steel. It has a very basic design, but the simple plastic handle is, at least, nice and long, with a total length of 18 inches. The teeth of the brush are spaced quite far apart, meaning this brush won’t hold water quite like some other, better brushes.
The other tool is a disaster. Why? Because it has bristles! Not only that, but it is also covered in bristles, of the very thin, “iron filling”-looking style. That is just not what we’re looking for here, so it’s very hard to recommend this as a high-quality, bristle-free grill brush because, well, it’s not one!
Choosing the best bristle free grill brush from this list was no easy task. There were several contenders for the top spot and any brush that didn’t make it should not be looked down on at all as it was a genuinely tight field.
In the end, we just had to go for the KitchenReady 2-in-1 Grill Brush. The reason behind this is that it showed the best combination of innovative design and tough construction to come out as the best brush on the list. That excellent brush head with the parallel coil placement will make light work of the toughest of dirty grills.
At the end of the day, we are all aware that we don’t clean our grills because it’s fun; we do it because it needs to be done. So, any tool that is fast and efficient in doing just that is always going to get top marks.
